2.1. All members must ensure their personal and/or professional premises are maintained in a hygienic condition and professionally presented.

2.2.All members must provide access to hygienically maintained bathroom facilities.

2.3.All members will provide consideration for the client’s modesty, privacy and safety at all times before, during and after kambo treatments. 

2.4.Members agree to display the up to date qualifications and certificates, or make available upon request, for the services they are providing

3.1.Practitioners are required to have comprehensive and easily understood Medical Forms completed prior to serving clients. Medical Forms ensure clients are safe to receive treatment and have no medical or emotional contraindications to kambo treatments. 

3.2.Practitioners are required to have Legal Waivers signed prior to serving clients. Legal Waivers ensure clients understand the scope of treatment, consent and liability between the client, practitioner and the Association.

3.3.Practitioners are required to keep a history of Medical Forms and Legal Waivers on file for no less than seven years. After which forms may be disposed of in a confidential manner. 

3.4.It is advised practitioners have pre-treatment calls with new clients to review medical history and set session goals and intentions. 

3.5.Medical Forms must be kept confidential and communicated only for professional purposes to persons legitimately involved in the client care. 

3.6.When treating minors under the age of majority in your country, the client must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The minor must understand the scope of treatment and sign in agreement.

4.1.Practitioners must honour the client’s right to personal privacy and modesty at all times.

4.2.Confidentiality of client information must be observed. Including conversations and events that occur during treatment, the intake process and following treatment during the integration process. 

4.3.Information that could benefit the Association for research purposes should be shared maintaining privacy and protecting the identity of the participant.

By checking, I agree to the following terms:

5.1.Practitioners must demonstrate competent decision making and work within the scope of their training. 

5.2.Practitioners must not misrepresent their qualifications, training or experience to any person, including the Association. 

5.3.Ensure behaviour does not damage the reputation of kambo or other spirit medicine and their practitioners. 

5.4.Practitioners are encouraged to continue education and training in modalities that are complimentary to serving kambo. Practitioners are also responsible for maintaining their own self-care and healing to continue their personal and spiritual growth. 

By checking, I agree to the following terms:

6.1.When serving three or more clients a competent and safe assistant is required to support you with treatment who will be taught the holding position and recovery position to ensure they understand what is expected of them in the event of an adverse situation

6.2.In the event that an assistant is not available practitioners must not serve more than two clients at a time. If serving two clients at a time clients must be experienced participants and the practitioner must have a baseline understanding of their potential reaction to the medicine.

6.3.Will not serve a participant without reviewing a complete medical and legal waiver to ensure the client is fit to receive Kambo

7.1.Testing your medicine sticks prior to serving clients is a requirement of safe and ethical administration. 

7.2.The Association prefers practitioners purchase kambo sticks through their trusted relationship with the Matsés Tribe of Peru. If sourcing medicine from an outside source it is the practitioners responsibility to do their due diligence in ensuring the medicine is collected ethically and sticks are tested prior to serving clients. 

7.3. It is the practitioners responsibility to properly store the medicine to ensure it does not become contaminated. If the stick becomes contaminated it must be disposed of according to safety protocol of the Association. 

By checking, I agree to the following terms:

8.1.Strive to project a professional image for themselves, their business and the Association.

8.2.Practitioners must ensure that public statements or advertisements does not contain false, misleading or fraudulent claims; does not contain claims which may bring the Association or the profession into disrepute; and does not contain claims creating unrealistic expectations of the results of kambo treatments. 

8.3.Not put sales pressure on clients through high pressure advertising or the manner in which advertising is distributed.

8.4.Plagiarism of other practitioners or the Association is considered a breach of terms. Content creation must be original. If a practitioner would like to recreate content another member has created they must first seek permission. 

8.5.If using photos of clients during treatments a photograph release agreement must be obtained. 

8.6.Practitioners are prohibited to use purge photos online or use to promote their business. Purge photos carry an energy we do not wish to infect the public with.

By checking, I agree to the following terms:

9.1.The use the Association’s logo, training materials, research work or any other intellectual property may not be used without prior explicit written consent.

9.2.Online support groups and social media are for the purposes of information sharing and supporting one another professionally. Promotion of ones own events may not be shared without prior permission from the group owner. 

By checking, I agree that I understand and agree to the following rules outlined by The IASP:

10. SEXUAL MISCONDUCT

The relationship between a practitioner and client is strictly professional in nature. The client places trust in the practitioners skill, care and integrity. It is the practitioners duty to act responsibility with this trust and not abuse it in anyway. 

Sexual Misconduct may include, but is not limited to any verbal or physical contact which may be reasonably interpreted as demeaning, humiliating, embarrassing, threatening, harming or sexually explicit. 

Practitioners must: 

10.1.Refrain from any behaviour that sexualizes, or appears to sexualize the client/practitioner relationship. 

10.2.In the event that the client initiates sexual behaviour, practitioners are to clarify the purpose of the treatment and if such conduct does not cease, terminate or refuse to provide treatment. 

During treatment practitioners shall:

10.3.Respect the clients modesty, asking the client to undress to the minimum level required to carry out effective treatment. Providing blankets to drape over exposed areas where possible. 

10.4.Not touch the client’s genitalia.

10.5.Not touch the breast area unless required for legitimate treatment purposes and only after receiving informed consent from the client. 

10.6.Respond definitively to inappropriate behaviour.

10.7.Not combine other healing modalities during the kambo treatment that are sexual in nature such as Naked Kambo, Kundalini Activations, Sexual Healing or Sex Magic practices that encourage self-pleasure. 

10.8.Not work with or collaborate with a practitioner of kambo or another wellness practitioner who has been convicted of a sexual offence. To ensure your clients safety Practitioners should get to know those they are collaborating with including awareness of any prior accusation or abuse. 

11. ETHICAL RELATIONSHIPS

11.1.A practitioner must not engage in, nor propose sexual conduct with a client even if it is consensual.

11.2.If a practitioner and consenting client of legal age wish to enter into an intimate relationship, then, prior to any such relationship commencing, the practitioner must:

• refer the client to another practitioner for treatment.

• It is advised that a cool off period of up to six month is observed before romantic relations precede.

12.1.Members shall treat their fellow colleagues, suppliers, competitors and the communities in which they operate fairly and respectfully, lawfully, with honesty and integrity in a manner that is consistent with long-term relationships.

12.2.Members shall speak with one another and about one another with respect. Promoting a culture of civility and kindness throughout the community, respecting one another’s practices and skill sets.

12.3.The Association prohibits abusive, intimidating, threatening, belittling or harassing conduct by practitioners towards others - including other practitioners. This includes publicly criticizing other practitioners or the Association and its leaders in a manner that casts doubt on their professionalism and competence. 

12.4.If a conflict arises among practitioners it is encouraged the parties involved work through the conflict on their own. If a resolution cannot be met the Association can provide a conflict resolution process to the involved parties where appropriate.

13.1.Practitioners may encounter criticism regarding the competence or professionalism of other practitioners voiced by clients or colleagues. Such criticisms of other practitioners, whether they are members of the Association or not, must be dealt with the utmost discretion and professionalism.

13.2.This applies equally if you yourself hold critical views of others, either within the kambo community or in another wellness discipline.

13.3.It is the practice of the Association to not make conflict public through verbal or public statements. It is also the practice to not persuade other practitioners of the Association to side with them on matters, conflict shall remain between the relevant parties.

13.4.If you have evidence or are reliably informed that another practitioner's conduct, health or professional competence poses a threat to clients wellbeing you have a responsibility to disclose this information to the Association in order to protect the client's safety and practitioners reputation. 

14.1.When conflict arises it is the intention of the Association that all matters are dealt with like a family, where resolution and long terms relationships are the aim. 

14.2.The conflicting parities shall resolve the issue(s) among themselves where possible. Steps for resolution include: 

• First step: discuss issues one-on-one to seek resolution

• Second step: work with a mentor within he organization to mediate

• Step three: work with a third party mediator agreed upon by all parties

• If resolution cannot be achieved within these three steps the agreement to disagree will be upheld. Any slander or negative behaviour towards one another shall cease. 

14.3.Members are expected to fully co-operate in any inquiry initiated by the Association. Co-operation is required in respect to a breach of this Code or any other member issue raised by the Association.

15. SCOPE OF SKILLS/ TRAINING

15.1.The scope of certification does not allow for practitioners to teach or train others as kambo practitioners or offer Nunu initiations. 

15.2.Practitioners are prohibited from sharing the course material with those who have not taken the IASP Certification Initiation and those who are no longer accredited practitioners. 

15.3.Certification allows practitioners to offer self-application teaching, particularly to those suffering with chronic illnesses where continued kambo application is beneficial. Or to those with a deep interest in working with the medicine. Self-application teaching shall not cover all the course content and shall only cover preparation and application of the medicine, as per training protocol. 

15.4.Candidates for self-application training should sit with you a minimum of three sessions to ensure they have a basic understanding of the medicine prior to learning to self-apply. Under no circumstance shall self-application trainees serve others. 

15.5.Certification allows practitioners to administer Animal Kambo, through the application on the nose, in the anus or on the gums, it is prohibited to burn animals. The practitioner must obtain permission from the owner and spiritual permission from the animal. The Owner must be present during the session. 

16. ANNUAL REVIEWS

16.1.Practitioners will be required to participate in an annual review process. Annual reviews will be mandatory to uphold membership status beginning 2023. Reviews will be conducted over the phone or via Zoom by a leader of the Association.

16.2.An annual online refresher questionnaire is required to be completed prior to the Annual Review.

16.3.Annual reviews will be conducted with the intention of assessing each practitioners competency and growth opportunities. Feedback will be offered to support each practitioner in their professional advancement.

It is important that all practitioners understand the expectations outlined in our Code. Any behaviour or action that does not comply with the Code will be given full and impartial review. Each breach of the code will be treaded independently.

It is the intention of the Association that all matters of conflict are dealt with like a family, where resolution is the aim.

If noncompliance is identified, disciplinary action may be taken in the following forms:

• First Breach: verbal conversation

• Second Breach: written notice

• Further Breaches: including retraining, suspension or revocation of certification

The IASP has the right to revoke certification at anytime if the breach is severe in nature. This is including but not limited to sexual misconduct, misuse of the medicine, endangering clients, not having proper medical forms or waivers and/or treating someone with a serious contraindication to the medicine. 

The primary aim of dispensary action is to correct unacceptable practitioner behaviour. If you are unsure of the proper conduct for any situation, or the standards of performance expected of you, or think you might be at risk of breaching the Code, please discuss the situation with your mentor or an IASP member.

The Association shall review and evaluate this Code as deemed necessary to ensure the Code is up to date and effective in ensuring that the Association’s business and affairs are conducted with honesty, integrity and in accordance with high ethical and legal standards. A notice to practitioners will be distributed if and when the Code is updated. 

New practitioners will be provided with the Code during their practitioner training and it will form part of their orientation to the Association. 

All practitioners will refresh their understanding each year by completing electronic confirmation that they have read the Code and have had an opportunity to ask questions for clarification, as part of the review process. 

This Code will be made available on the Association’s website at www.theiasp.com.
